Countries now rely heavily on one another due to globalization, where domestic politics, international relations, and diplomacy create worldwide ripple effects. In this context, understanding and analyzing political, economic, social, environmental, and cultural issues across nations has become an invaluable ability. This program lets you focus on specialized fields like human futures and global issues, international law, global politics and conflict resolution, international commerce, or Asian, European, or classical languages. Additionally, you'll have the chance to study abroad. Offered both online and on-campus, this degree provides adaptable intercultural competencies that are in high demand in today's interconnected workforce.
You can develop proficiency in a language and its cultural context (options include Chinese, Classical Languages, French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, or Spanish). The curriculum often covers the nation's historical background, literary works, and cinema, along with the possibility of immersive language study abroad.

Entry is based on recent secondary (ATAR), higher education (GPA), VET study, or work experience. English language requirements must also be met.
You will need to meet both the Academic and English Language Requirements to gain admission into this course. Meeting academic requirements means we review what you have already studied to see if you have the results needed for admission to your preferred course.
This course is offered under three admission rules.
Rule A: You have completed, at minimum, an Australian Year 12 qualification or overseas equivalent.
If you are admitted on this basis, you will be eligible for admission under Rule A. Please see the Course Structure (Program of Study).
Rule B: You have completed the UNE Diploma in Arts.
If you are admitted on this basis, you will be eligible for admission under Rule B. Please see the Course Structure (Program of Study).
Rule C: You have completed the UNE Advanced Diploma in Arts.
If you are admitted on this basis, you will be eligible for admission under Rule C.

Successful completion of an Australian Year 12 award with an ATAR acceptable to UNE in the year of admission (minimum scores for entry into each UNE course are available directly from UNE International), or
Successful completion of a recognised Foundation Studies program conducted by an Australian University or affiliate with a minimum score of 60% in all units including English.
An International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic overall score of at least 6.0 with no sub-band less than 5.5*, or
Equivalent Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of at least 213 in the computer-based test or at least 79 in the internet-based test with no less than 22 in the written component
