The Bachelor of Historical Inquiry and Practice prepares individuals pursuing history as a career, professionals seeking to enhance their historical expertise, or those entering fields where historical knowledge is valuable. Career paths include historical writing, social and criminal history, genealogical studies, national heritage and linguistics, as well as cultural studies and musicology. Develop comprehensive historical understanding, explore history's significance and influence, and master professional research methodologies. The program's adaptable structure allows students to customize their learning path according to personal and professional goals. Eight foundational units establish core competencies in historical research and application. Students may specialize by selecting either two Majors, one Major with two Minors, or one Major with one Minor. Specialization options span ancient civilizations, European and Australian studies, genealogy, archaeology, and heritage preservation. Additionally, students may select up to eight elective units from UNE's broader curriculum.
