Criminology explores criminal behavior and society's reactions to it. UNE's Bachelor of Criminology program examines the root causes of crime and prevention strategies across communities. The curriculum covers essential subjects like law enforcement, corrections, rural offenses, victim studies, and practical crime prevention through profiling and forensic techniques. You'll develop crucial abilities in analytical reasoning, solution-finding, and evaluation to succeed in our evolving global landscape.
This criminology degree allows you to focus on a specialization while selecting from core and optional subjects. Coursework delves into legal processes, police work, incarceration, forensic analysis, psychological factors, crime theories, rural offenses, and youth crime. You'll gain research methodology training, put concepts into real-world contexts, and explore regional variations and disparities in justice systems globally. As Australia's longest-standing regional university and a leader in remote learning, UNE consistently receives top marks for Student Experience and Support Services in national rankings, ensuring quality education whether you study remotely or on-campus.
