Offering 10 specialized majors, our business degree provides the adaptability to explore multiple career directions. Experienced Australian Defence Force members with four or more years of service who've completed specific ADF courses and hold an approved diploma may qualify for admission based on their military training and experience (refer to Course rules for details). Holders of approved TAFE or RTO diplomas may receive credit, shortening the program duration. The course structure lets you pursue one or two majors (listed below) and choose from numerous electives, enabling you to tailor your studies or maintain broad academic exposure. Selecting a single major requires completing 8 additional units from any university discipline, significantly expanding your knowledge base.
By completing the Accounting major plus four extra units, you'll meet the entry requirements for leading accounting associations (CPA Australia, Chartered Accountants ANZ, and IPA). This pathway is ideal for those seeking accounting qualifications while gaining comprehensive business knowledge. Alternatively, you can specialize further through our dedicated Bachelor of Accounting program.

Entry is based on Australian Year 12 equivalence, an approved VET qualification, or an approved overseas qualification. English language requirements must also be met.
You will need to meet both the Academic and English Language Requirements to gain admission into this course. Meeting academic requirements means we review what you have already studied to see if you have the results needed for admission to your preferred course.
This course is offered under three admission rules, each with its own Course Structure (Program of Study).
Rule A: You have completed, at minimum, an Australian Year 12 qualification or overseas equivalent.
If you are admitted on this basis and you will be studying at UNE's Armidale campus, you will be eligible for admission under Rule A. Please see the Rule A Course Structure (Program of Study).
If you are admitted on this basis and you will be studying at UNE's Sydney campus, you will be eligible for admission under Rule E. Please see Rule E Course Structure (Program of Study).
Rule B: You have completed an approved overseas qualification from one of the following institutions:

Successful completion of an Australian Year 12 award with an ATAR acceptable to UNE in the year of admission (minimum scores for entry into each UNE course are available directly from UNE International), or
Successful completion of a recognised Foundation Studies program conducted by an Australian University or affiliate with a minimum score of 60% in all units including English.
An International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic overall score of at least 6.0 with no sub-band less than 5.5*, or
Equivalent Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of at least 213 in the computer-based test or at least 79 in the internet-based test with no less than 22 in the written component*, or
