The Master of Social Change Leadership is designed for participants in the Atlantic Fellows for Social Equity Program (AFSE). This initiative cultivates transformative leaders by immersing them in Indigenous knowledge systems while fostering dialogue with other frameworks. Participants will gain interdisciplinary expertise through diverse learning environments, adopting a global comparative approach. The program enables engagement with multifaceted aspects of leadership for social transformation, targeting complex issues affecting Indigenous populations.
Structured to empower participants as collaborative change agents, the curriculum partners with communities and institutions to drive Indigenous-informed societal progress. Drawing on the University of Melbourne's academic leadership, this interdisciplinary program offers comprehensive training.
Upon graduation, participants will be able to:
Exhibit sophisticated comprehension of Indigenous knowledge systems and their application in building sustainable social movements and reshaping narratives for equity
Analyze specialized theories and contemporary research about Indigenous-led social transformation from multidisciplinary and international viewpoints
Assess the socio-cultural, political, and historical factors influencing equity in Indigenous and other marginalized communities
Develop and articulate innovative solutions for complex equity challenges to diverse stakeholders across Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities
