The Environment and Public Health specialization forms a core component of the Master of Environment program. In our current era, few subjects carry greater significance than understanding how ecological systems influence human wellbeing. Fundamental necessities like breathable air, potable water, stable climates, reliable food supplies, and thriving ecosystems face unprecedented pressures. This academic track equips students for professions bridging ecological and health sciences, addressing emerging needs in policy development, scientific research, advocacy work, and ecosystem management related to public health. The curriculum imparts essential methodologies employed by environmental health experts and public health professionals, including monitoring systems, data collection techniques, analytical frameworks, and specialized approaches in biostatistics, disease tracking, and health economics. Additional competencies focus specifically on environmental health applications, such as conducting comprehensive impact evaluations and performing both numerical and observational analyses. This specialization complements the University of Melbourne's dedicated Master of Environment and Public Health degree.
