The Master of Advanced Social Work (Research) enables students to blend coursework with in-depth independent research in the field of social work. This program fosters an advanced approach that integrates both practical and theoretical perspectives, while promoting self-directed, continuous learning. To qualify for the degree, candidates must maintain a minimum average grade of H3 (65%) or above.
Program Learning Objectives
Upon completing this degree, graduates will: develop research competencies and complete a concise thesis applicable to social work practice and/or social policy;
gain preparation for higher-level professional practice.
To be considered for entry, you must have completed: a) a qualifying Australian Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent within the last ten years with a grade point average of 75% or above AND b) eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers AND c) two years of documented professional social work practice
English language requirements:
IELTS (academic English Only): Overall 7.0 (with written 7.0 and no band less than 6.0)
TOEFL Internet-based test: 94 + ; Writing 27; Speaking 18; Reading 13; Listening 13;
Pearson Test of English Academic: 65 + written communicative skill of 65 and no other communicative skill below 50
Cambridge English: Advanced/ Certificate of Advanced English (CAE): 185 + no less than 185 in Writing and 169 in each other skill
