The Graduate Diploma in Music is a one-year course tailored for university graduates from any discipline seeking advanced music education. In the Performance specialization, you'll receive hands-on training to refine your instrumental, vocal, or conducting skills to a fourth-year undergraduate standard, while developing nuanced understanding of repertoire styles and interpretations. The program offers diverse ensemble electives from one of Australia's most extensive ensemble programs, featuring options across various sizes, cultures (Western and non-Western), and historical periods (early to contemporary music). Complementary studies in Music Theory, Aural Skills, and music history/culture provide comprehensive musical development. Successful completion may qualify you for master's degree programs in Music, either coursework or research-based.
An undergraduate degree with a weighted average mark of at least H3 (65%) or equivalent;
at least five years of documented professional experience relevant to the specialisation.
