The Bachelor of Arts (Honours Degree) represents an additional year of specialized study designed for outstanding undergraduate students. This honors program allows you to deepen your expertise in your chosen field. More rigorous than a standard bachelor's degree, the BA (Honours) provides extensive opportunities across humanities, social sciences, and language disciplines while strengthening students' research capabilities and critical thinking skills. The program fosters original thought and creative problem-solving approaches. Students can focus on a single discipline (pure honors) or combine two areas (combined honors).
The History and Philosophy of Science honors track involves an intensive fourth year of advanced study with higher academic expectations than a standard degree. Eligibility requires completion of BA requirements with a HPS major and a minimum H2A (75%) average in second and third-year major subjects. Honors candidates in HPS must complete a 15,000-word thesis alongside four coursework subjects. The compulsory core subject examines current trends in HPS, while students select one methodological subject and two electives to complement their studies.
