The Bachelor of Health Science in Western Herbal Medicine provides expert training in Western herbal practices along with core nutrition principles. Students master the art of creating herbal remedies using global medicinal plants and develop client consultation skills. The curriculum covers biomedical sciences such as pathophysiology, clinical evaluation, and pharmacology, while exploring the properties of 150+ international herbal medicines, pharmacognosy, therapeutic interactions, and sustainability considerations in prescribing. Aspiring practitioners acquire skills to offer fundamental dietary and lifestyle recommendations for enhanced wellbeing. Mandatory on-campus clinical training and Work-Integrated Learning components are integrated throughout the program. Students obtain practical experience at The Practice Wellbeing Center, conducting consultations with public clients under expert supervision. This program equips graduates for private practice careers while developing versatile skills applicable to community health environments and technical positions within the expanding complementary medicine field.
Successful completion of at least 0.5 EFTSL at AQF level 5, 0.25 EFTSL at AQF level 6 or above, or equivalent
