The Stanley College Bachelor of Business (BBus) is a comprehensive program offering a broad foundation in business studies. This curriculum is structured to deliver both extensive coverage and in-depth understanding of essential business disciplines, equipping graduates with diverse knowledge, critical thinking capabilities, and competencies required in today's business environment. Upon finishing the program, students attain an AQF level seven qualification. The BBus spans six semesters, comprising 24 units over three years for full-time students, with part-time or reduced load options available, to be completed within a six-year timeframe. The coursework advances from foundational subjects in the initial year to more focused topics in the second, culminating in a Work Integrated Learning (WIL) placement during the third year, which is central to the program's philosophy. WIL is integral to the course's methodology, with activities phased to guide students toward an optimal workplace experience. These initiatives emphasize self-awareness and personal growth in the first year, understanding the Australian work environment in the second, and applying learned concepts in a business setting during the final year. Numerous assessments allow students to explore particular interests, and they will be supported in maintaining a portfolio that documents how their academic learning enhances their personal, professional, and employability skills. Students will choose specific completed assignments, including lecturer feedback, personal reflections, and peer input when relevant, for their portfolios. The WIL component, embedded annually, prepares students to meet industry expectations and make societal contributions. In the final year, the Business Practicum unit enables students to gain hands-on experience in a business or organization, bolstering self-assurance, subject mastery, and career readiness. Graduates will excel at persuasive communication, critical analysis, problem-solving in business contexts, and initiating innovative projects professionally and ethically. They will also develop into accountable, self-directed, lifelong learners who actively support their communities, with aspirations to join professional associations, organizations, and industry leaders. Ultimately, graduates will acquire the skills, knowledge, and qualities to realize their personal objectives and ambitions or advance to postgraduate education.
