The Bachelor of Education program prepares you for a teaching career in Australia and internationally. This research-backed curriculum builds on the Faculty of Education's expertise in developing teacher training that addresses both local and global educational needs. The initial year offers comprehensive training in literacy, numeracy, subject knowledge, and current educational trends. Throughout the four-year full-time program (or accelerated 3.5-year option), you'll study essential topics including Indigenous education, environmental sustainability, inclusive education, and teaching methodologies across various subjects. All aspiring primary and secondary teachers in Australia must pass the Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education Students (LANTITE) before their second teaching placement. Full-time students starting from year 2 may need to study year-round (January to December across 6 terms) in certain years.
