Your science education starts with foundational courses where you'll discover essential scientific principles spanning physical, life, data, and mathematical sciences while building crucial technical and transferable skills. This forms a transformative educational foundation for your future academic and professional pursuits.
As an RMIT Bachelor of Science student, you can concentrate your studies on one primary specialization paired with complementary minors, or opt for two specializations to earn a dual-major degree. Regardless of your choice, your program will comprise 24 courses, with all students beginning their journey through the introductory Foundations of Science course in their first semester.
Industry engagement is fostered through collaboration with Industry Advisory Committees (IAC) and scientific organizations, ensuring your education remains relevant to current workforce needs. Our strong industry partnerships, developed through ongoing research and technology collaborations, help shape curriculum design to match employer expectations. Faculty members also leverage these connections to create Work Integrated Learning (WIL) opportunities and provide career guidance across various disciplines.
Certain courses may feature industry professionals, government representatives, or community leaders as guest speakers, along with industry-related learning activities. Additional WIL and Interprofessional Learning (IPL) opportunities vary depending on your chosen specialization and coursework.
