Develop your love for geometry, algebra, and trigonometry through a specialized program focused on teaching math to grades 7-10. This major delves into topics aligned with middle school mathematics curricula, employing advanced university-level techniques. You'll study diverse subjects like linear and nonlinear functions (including polynomials, sinusoidals, and exponentials), geometric concepts of congruence, transformations, trigonometry, area and volume calculations, plus probability and introductory statistics. The program builds profound mathematical knowledge to cultivate essential teaching skills: crafting clear explanations and proofs, analyzing standard mathematical definitions and notation, enhancing visual representations of concepts, strengthening the connection between algebra and numerical systems, exploring theorem statements with basic proof techniques, and addressing common student challenges and misunderstandings in secondary math education.
