This supplementary year of study builds upon the foundation established in your undergraduate Psychology program. The honours curriculum offers a comprehensive exploration of psychological theories and applications while enhancing your independent research capabilities. A significant portion of the program emphasizes research methodology - from design and execution to analysis and presentation - including the chance to undertake your own empirical investigation. Under faculty guidance, you'll select a research focus, culminating in both a written thesis and conference presentation materials, which constitute the majority of your academic workload. Through specialized coursework, you'll examine both theoretical frameworks and practical considerations for applying psychological principles in professional and societal contexts. The Australian Psychological Society (APS) accredits this program, and graduates qualify for provisional registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
