This specialization equips you to instruct students aged 12–18 in secondary school settings from Year 7 through Year 12, covering two subject areas.
You'll explore current educational theories, concepts, and methodologies in secondary teaching.
You'll cultivate inclusive instructional techniques to address diverse adolescent learning requirements across cognitive, social, and emotional domains, while acquiring strategies for effective classroom management. The program involves analyzing and assessing various teaching methods pertinent to adolescent education. You'll gain advanced knowledge in curriculum design and teaching methodologies up to VCE-level standards, qualifying as a specialized educator in two disciplines - determined by your undergraduate major and minor studies. The secondary education program offers both standard and residency tracks, with automatic enrollment in the standard stream and optional application for the limited-availability residency option.
