This two-year program combines rigorous coursework with a research component culminating in a significant thesis across various disciplines: observational astronomy, computational astrophysics, experimental physics, or theoretical physics.
Physics graduates apply their expertise across multiple fields such as: drug discovery and macromolecular biology, medical imaging technologies, synchrotron research, innovative material development, photonics and laser systems, climate science and weather forecasting, medical device engineering, renewable energy sectors (including solar technology), product innovation, science education, and public science outreach.

Our alumni secure positions across diverse sectors including corporate industries, healthcare institutions, and scientific agencies; notable employers include: Agilent Technologies, Optiscan Imaging, Alfred Health, the Australian Synchrotron, Antarctic research programs, CSIRO, nuclear science organizations, environmental protection agencies, among others. A significant number of our Master's graduates continue their academic journey by pursuing doctoral research degrees.
