Throughout this program – achievable in just one year for students with prior experience – you'll gain proficiency in cutting-edge econometric, statistical, and data analysis techniques. You'll learn to apply these tools to develop data-informed solutions across various fields such as empirical economics, finance, risk assessment, predictive modeling, healthcare economics, and environmental sectors like energy and climate change. The curriculum allows specialization in one of these focus areas:
Macroeconomic and financial econometrics
Microeconomic and health econometrics
Energy and climate data analytics
This Master's program combines rigorous coursework with hands-on research, developing your econometric methodology skills and preparing you for significant applied projects. Exceptional students may also use this foundation to pursue advanced doctoral studies.
An Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent) with at least a high credit (65%) average or equivalent Grade Point Average (GPA) in a STEM or business area that includes an advanced unit on econometrics or statistics or equivalent and Australian graduate certificate / honours degree (or equivalent).
OR
An Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent) in a STEM or business area that includes an advanced unit on econometrics or statistics or equivalent and two years relevant professional experience*.
