Paramedics serve as the primary responders in medical crises and emergency situations. They evaluate, manage, and transport patients during urgent health incidents within communities. Our Bachelor of Paramedicine program equips you with essential skills, theoretical understanding, and practical training to handle critical emergencies, deliver immediate care, and make life-saving interventions. The curriculum begins with foundational studies in anatomy, physiology, and pharmacotherapy, progressing to explore paramedics' roles in clinical practice, research, education, and leadership. As a paramedicine student, you'll develop expertise in treating diverse medical cases such as trauma, respiratory and cardiovascular conditions, mental health crises, and maternal/neonatal health issues. Beginning in your first term, you'll accumulate hands-on experience through up to 60 days of clinical placements during your studies, working with ambulance services, non-emergency transport providers, and emergency departments in Victoria's leading hospitals. These hospital rotations showcase the varied responsibilities of paramedics while allowing you to collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams. On-campus training includes realistic simulation exercises, including mass casualty incident management.
