The program blends Western classical and jazz theory with hands-on application, while introducing diverse musical traditions across cultural, historical, and professional contexts. Elective options span from jazz arrangement to digital music production, from East Asian musical heritage to conducting techniques, supplementing both core and specialized studies. You'll strive for mastery in your chosen specialization—Performance, Popular Music, or Composition and Creative Music Technology—culminating in a final assessment of either your principal instrument/vocal performance, a creative portfolio, music technology project, or scholarly work. Qualification Requirements

At the time of enrolment in a course at Monash University, you must be at least 17 years of age.
All Monash undergraduate courses require you to have successfully completed a minimum of an Australian Year 12 qualification (or equivalent) and achieve the required academic entry score. Most Monash faculties generally use your most recent studies for admission however other guidelines may apply where your prior qualification may be considered.
