An honours year provides an additional year of study that enhances the foundation from your bachelor's degree while developing independent research capabilities. Participants in our honours program engage with pioneering research and contemporary advancements in their chosen discipline. Earning an honours qualification offers a professional edge and serves as a gateway to postgraduate education, including master's or doctoral programs. At Monash Business School, high-achieving students can pursue a one-year Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) program. This intensive study allows deeper exploration of your undergraduate specialization through a combination of advanced theoretical study, research methodology training, thesis work, and specialized coursework. Available specializations encompass accounting, econometrics, economics, finance, management, marketing, actuarial studies, and business analytics. Employers highly prize the specialized skills of honours graduates, providing them with distinct career advantages. The program also equips students for advanced research degrees like the Master of Philosophy or PhD. Students enrolled in Monash's double degree programs who haven't completed both degrees may qualify for honours after completing 144 credit points, including all requirements for the relevant bachelor's degree component.
