The Bachelor of Arts provides both breadth and specialization, cultivating globally aware, skilled, and critically thinking individuals. The program centers on transformative learning experiences, allowing students to shape their academic journey through four Professional Futures pathways: Global immersion, Intercultural expertise, Professional experience, or Innovation capability. Options include local and international internships, professional collaborations, entrepreneurial ventures, and access to over 50 global programs - including the Monash Arts Global Immersion Guarantee with funding opportunities. These experiences equip students to thrive in diverse cultural settings while connecting with a network of peers.
Crime serves as a lens into societal challenges, values, and ambitions - from its definition and root causes to our collective responses. Criminology examines power dynamics, justice systems, and social control across national and international contexts. Students explore crime causation theories, societal perceptions, and response strategies while evaluating the criminal justice system's successes and shortcomings. Our research influences policy changes and legal reforms in areas like plea bargaining, homicide, domestic violence, and youth justice.
