This program delivers an exceptional higher education in music, allowing specialization in performance, composition, or music technology. The Arts component provides flexible options across 40 diverse majors and minors. You might focus on the historical, cultural, or linguistic aspects of your musical repertoire, or enhance career prospects by combining music with theater, film, or journalism. The Arts curriculum features transformative experiences and four distinctive Signature elements for personal development: Global immersion, Intercultural expertise, Professional experience, or Innovation capability. Graduates earn dual degrees: Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Music, gaining comprehensive skills for careers in either field or their intersection—from arts administration to performance or music education.

Whether your musical influences lean toward Debussy, Meg Mac, or Kenny Werner, our performance program provides the depth and rigor for professional growth in your primary instrument or voice. Open to classically or jazz-trained musicians, the curriculum develops technical mastery through ensemble participation and solo work. Global opportunities include study tours to New York or Italy's Monash Prato Centre, where you'll engage with international artists. The Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music ranks among Australia's finest, nurturing acclaimed soloists and ensemble performers. You'll benefit from personalized mentorship, masterclasses with renowned artists, and historical studies of performance traditions.
