This program results in two distinct degrees: a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Music. You will enjoy all the advantages of each degree (refer to Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Music) and be thoroughly prepared to pursue a career in either field independently or to merge them in your professional life. As a graduate with degrees in Arts and Music, you could embark on a career in the arts sector, performance, music education, or composition, or in interdisciplinary roles such as production, arts management, policy, or coaching. Gender studies is a dynamic interdisciplinary field that operates on the premise that all social processes and institutions are gendered. This area of study applies innovative theories and research methods to comprehend how our bodies are sexed, gendered, and sexually oriented, and how these relate to current and global discussions on gender inequality, sexual and reproductive health and rights, and the diversity of sexualities. You will be introduced to various critical analytical models—feminist and queer—that will help you develop methodological skills, including problem-solving abilities. Additionally, you will gain transferable professional skills in gender analysis and a commitment to gender equality and social justice that can be applied to your future career.
