This program investigates how material evidence helps us comprehend ancient societies and their contemporary significance. Our methodology integrates multiple disciplines - combining archaeology, history, classical studies, anthropology, art history, environmental analysis, and biological archaeology to construct comprehensive perspectives on antiquity. The core curriculum encompasses 250 millennia of human history, with specialized tracks focusing on the Ancient Near East (including Egypt, Anatolia, Mesopotamia, and Persia), Classical civilizations, and Indigenous Australian cultures. Key areas of study include habitation patterns, burial practices, political systems, technological developments, economic structures, artistic expressions, religious beliefs, mythology, and social constructs like gender and sexuality.
