This highly pertinent dual degree serves as your gateway to an international career in the creative and cultural arts. Situated alongside the nationally renowned Monash University Museum of Art (MUMA), you will collaborate with some of Australia's leading artists, art theorists, and cultural commentators. Through our Bachelor of Arts, you can select from 40 major and minor study areas, such as languages, social sciences, communications, politics, human rights, and international relations, to cultivate a well-informed, critical understanding of the subjects that inspire you most. This program culminates in two distinct degrees. Based on your specialization, you will receive either a Bachelor of Art History and Curating or a Bachelor of Fine Art and a Bachelor of Arts. You will enjoy the full advantages of each degree and be thoroughly prepared to pursue a career in either field independently or to merge both in your professional path. If you opt for the Art History and Curating specialization, you will deepen your comprehension and appreciation of art, including its origins and importance. You will gain practical experience by developing exhibition concepts, and internship opportunities will enhance your curating abilities in real-world settings. Politics is an outstanding discipline for exploring the interconnections in human society and acquiring a wide array of interpretive and analytical skills. The field engages in critical discussions about governance, policy development and implementation, social behavior, and political actions, including electoral processes, conflict management or resolution, and interstate relations. The study of politics fundamentally addresses key questions regarding the nature of power, authority, and governance, as well as the link between theory and practice. At Monash, politics aims to provide you with insights into many facets of the modern world, along with a solid intellectual foundation in the essential debates, texts, and traditions that define the discipline. The politics curriculum at Monash focuses on three main areas: government, policy and leadership, international relations and comparative governance, and political philosophy and psychology.
