This dynamic dual degree serves as your gateway to an international career in creative and cultural arts. Situated alongside the nationally renowned Monash University Museum of Art (MUMA), you'll collaborate with Australia's leading artists, art theorists, and cultural experts. Our Bachelor of Arts offers 40 diverse major and minor options spanning languages, social sciences, communications, political studies, human rights, and international relations, allowing you to cultivate deep expertise in your chosen disciplines. The program culminates in two distinct degrees: either a Bachelor of Art History and Curating or a combined Bachelor of Fine Art and Bachelor of Arts. You'll acquire comprehensive skills to excel in either field individually or blend both in your professional pursuits. Opting for Art History and Curating will deepen your knowledge of artistic traditions while providing practical experience in exhibition development and professional curatorial internships.
The Linguistics and English Language major applies scientific methods to study language systems and their real-world applications. Monash's program specializes in multilingualism research, covering language globalization, pedagogy, and preservation. Students may focus on English as a global language, examining its structural patterns, social functions, and worldwide variations. The curriculum develops analytical skills for studying any language while exploring connections to anthropology, education, and digital technologies. The innovative English as an International Language specialization investigates worldwide English varieties and their intercultural communication impacts. This approach encourages critical reflection on English usage across contexts while analyzing the language's ideological dimensions in local and global settings.
