Astronomy studies the cosmos by analyzing the light it emits. Astrophysics applies physics principles to explain astronomical events and uncover the universe's beginnings and development. Experts in this discipline investigate celestial bodies – including planets, stars, and galaxies – along with the techniques used to acquire this knowledge.

The Astronomy and Astrophysics program equips students to tackle challenges independently and innovatively using fundamental physics concepts, along with appropriate mathematical and computational methods. Students will master working with astronomical data using industry-standard software tools. Additionally, they'll gain skills to derive analytical solutions for astrophysical challenges by working with physics equations and creating specialized computer applications.
