The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) is a globally acknowledged advanced research degree. Every PhD student conducts extensive independent study on an original subject under academic guidance, culminating in a thesis submission for evaluation. This research must offer a substantial novel and creative addition to the field. Students receive guidance from at least two qualified supervisors with proven expertise in the research area, as specified in the Graduate Research Supervision Policy. Academic progress is monitored according to the University's Graduate Research Progress Policy. Students may pursue their studies full-time or part-time, within visa limitations.
Attainment of comprehensive expertise at the cutting edge of a research domain, including original scholarly contributions. Capacity to critically evaluate relevant literature and existing studies, recognize how the candidate's work relates to broader knowledge in the field, and articulate the academic significance of their findings.
