La Trobe's Bachelor of Podiatry (Honours) program provides instruction from leading professionals - including practicing podiatrists, researchers, and educators specializing in sports medicine, biomechanics, hospital care, pediatric podiatry, and foot surgery - equipping you for a fulfilling healthcare career. As a podiatry student, you'll pursue an innovative curriculum covering human anatomy, physiology, medical disorders, pharmacology, and sports medicine. Building on this foundation, you'll develop skills in performing minor surgeries, treating complex foot and ankle conditions, and utilizing specialized equipment like orthotic grinders, vacuum presses, 3D laser scanners for custom orthotics, and Doppler devices for circulatory assessment.
You'll gain hands-on experience applying these techniques while treating actual patients at our university-based podiatry clinic. The program incorporates clinical rotations across diverse healthcare settings, including hospitals, specialty clinics, and private practices throughout Australia. These practical training opportunities will fully prepare you for professional practice upon graduation.
