Advance your achievements from the Bachelor of Health Sciences by pursuing Honours to strengthen key career skills or begin your journey toward research, academic, and professional opportunities. You'll expand your knowledge of research theory, methodology, and practical applications beyond what you learned in your undergraduate studies. Enhance your laboratory techniques, explore cutting-edge health topics, and complete specialized coursework in health research methods. Under the guidance of La Trobe's experienced faculty, you'll conduct original research to develop evidence-based solutions. At Bendigo Campus, the Health Sciences Honours program offers specializations in public health and environmental health.

Learn to design research projects that address critical questions within set timeframes, analyze and evaluate relevant theories and literature, create and execute studies using appropriate methodologies, understand research ethics, and effectively communicate findings through detailed reports and presentations for both professional and general audiences.

Honours goes beyond reinforcing undergraduate knowledge—it sharpens your research capabilities and boosts essential career skills, giving you a competitive advantage in the job market. It also serves as the ideal preparation for postgraduate studies, research degrees, or academic careers. Excel in the Honours program, and you may qualify for a Masters by Research. Exceptional students could even secure direct admission to a PhD program.
