Examine international collaboration and disputes. Study the interplay of power, sovereignty, and safety while observing transformative shifts in modern global affairs. Delve into international law's significant role, covering humanitarian, environmental, and refugee legislation.

The Spanish studies major teaches the Spanish language alongside Hispanic and Latin American history and cultures. Spoken by over 400 million native speakers, Spanish ranks among the world's most important languages. Beyond linguistic proficiency, you'll explore Hispanic/Latin American cultural studies, linguistics, translation, literature, and cinema. Mastering Spanish enhances your employability in today's competitive global job market and proves valuable in international development and diplomacy, as it's an official UN and World Bank language.
