The Crime, Justice and Legal Studies program provides an interdisciplinary approach to understanding law's function and influence in society. This major combines Socio-Legal Studies, Criminology, and Criminal Justice, integrating perspectives from diverse fields such as Sociology, Political Science, Media Studies, History, and Cultural Studies. Students will develop analytical tools to examine legal principles, systems, institutions, and challenges as evolving components of social dynamics. The curriculum addresses both local and global aspects of current critical topics, including citizenship concepts, human rights, social equity, violence, discrimination, victimization, criminal justice processes, legal representations in media, and law's relationship with social transformation.
