While exploring core programming concepts, data structure principles, and system design, you'll acquire the tools to drive efficiency and innovation in your current or prospective workplace.Through the Master of Information Technology program, you'll complete four core courses: Internet Basics; Database Architecture; Programming Logic; and either Digital Interface Creation or Digital Business Strategy. Cairns and Townsville students can specialize in Computer Science, while JCU Brisbane and JCU Singapore attendees may additionally select concentrations in Business Systems or Interactive Entertainment Design. Your chosen specialization will prepare you for an IT career aligned with your professional interests.Apply your learning through hands-on experience in a collaborative technology initiative spanning two key courses. Working in groups, students tackle real-world projects sourced from businesses, community organizations, or academic research, employing diverse IT management methodologies to identify optimal practices. You'll cultivate teamwork abilities, tackle multifaceted challenges, refine project deliverables, and guide a research initiative from conception to final presentation. Potential project areas include digital advertising, website creation, interactive media development, or other fields your team selects.
Completion of an AQF level 7 bachelor degree from this or another university; or
Other qualifications or practical experience recognised by the Dean, College of Science and Engineering as equivalent to the above.
