Discover how your choices directly impact the organization's achievements. You will gain the insights needed to emerge as a business leader and grasp the foundations of a sustainable business framework. Our faculty's extensive professional networks and the Work Integrated Learning initiative guarantee you access to pertinent industry positions.
During your initial year, you will cover fundamental topics applicable to all business disciplines. You can then customize your degree by choosing your primary focus area and potentially a secondary specialization.
To provide you with practical experience, preparation for Work Integrated Learning begins in your first year. Integrated throughout the program, career readiness and development resources equip you for the culminating capstone subject, where you can opt for an internship with a local company or a cross-disciplinary project for an industry client. Full-time employees may undertake a project relevant to their current role.
To enhance your career prospects, you can also participate in the Professional Development program concurrently with your studies. Moreover, Townsville-based students can engage in the Townsville Chamber of Commerce — James Cook University Mentoring Program. In your final year, you may apply to be paired with an industry expert from the Townsville Chamber of Commerce (preferably a JCU graduate) for personalized guidance through one-on-one meetings, virtual interactions, and mentoring activities. Your mentor will offer advice on career strategy, skill enhancement, professional connections, and job-seeking methods. You'll expand and fortify your professional network while acquiring the abilities and self-assurance to thrive.
