The Bachelor of Oral Health (Therapy and Hygiene) is a Charles Sturt University program delivered at Holmesglen's Chadstone campus. In the first two years, students attend lectures and pre-clinical training at Holmesglen, with some clinical sessions at Charles Sturt University's Wagga Wagga campus in NSW. The final year is completed entirely at Charles Sturt University's Wagga Wagga location.
This program emphasizes health sciences and practical clinical skill development through evidence-based education.
Students gain hands-on experience through community placements and extensive clinic/simulation training. The curriculum specifically addresses rural and remote oral health challenges, particularly in vulnerable populations including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
Graduates will qualify as oral health therapists, capable of diagnosing dental conditions and collaborating with dentists to deliver preventive care to school-aged children and community members. Clinical placements occur in years 1 and 2 at Charles Sturt's Wagga Wagga dental clinics, with year 3 placements extending to Albury and other regional NSW Health oral health facilities.
