This program combines hands-on placement opportunities with academic coursework in psychological practice. You'll develop professional and ethical practice skills while learning effective communication and collaboration techniques. The curriculum focuses on assessing client requirements, creating evidence-based treatment plans, and measuring results. Designed to fulfill the fifth-year requirements of the 5+1 pathway, this degree leads to general psychologist registration. Students may qualify for provisional registration with the Psychology Board of Australia, a key step in the 5+1 pathway, while preparing for their subsequent internship year. The program aligns with Psychology Board standards for the mandatory internship period needed for full registration. Graduates will be qualified for positions in various sectors including government health, education, child protection, and justice systems, as well as private and nonprofit organizations.
