The Bachelor of Social Work (Honours) includes a 30-credit research dissertation component. In addition to enhancing career opportunities and skills, the Honours program provides Social Work students with a pathway to pursue research and advanced degrees through Master of Philosophy and Doctor of Philosophy programs. Graduates emerge as ethical and creative thinkers, skilled communicators, effective problem-solvers, agents of change, and leaders. This program equips you for diverse social work positions such as working with individuals, groups, and families; community engagement; advocacy, research, planning, and policy development; and management and administrative roles. Potential employment areas include child protection, youth services, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander programs, family welfare, justice systems, healthcare settings, employment support, and aged care. Additional career paths encompass community development, family assistance, foster care programs, disability support, policy analysis, women's services, multicultural programs, and various social welfare organizations.
