For those interested in pursuing psychology as a career, this program provides comprehensive training in clinical, developmental, biological, cognitive, and social/organizational psychology. You'll develop counseling techniques and interpersonal abilities to assist individuals facing personal, health, career, and social challenges. The curriculum covers applying psychological theories to various subjects including cognition, perception, motivation, stress management, health behaviors, and criminal behavior. During your final year, you'll undertake professional research training, complete an honors thesis, and enroll in four mandatory courses - though admission to this advanced year depends on maintaining satisfactory academic progress in earlier studies. Practical experience is gained through professional placements. Upon graduation, you'll qualify for entry-level positions in probationary psychology across diverse fields such as career counseling, clinical practice, organizational psychology, health administration, and social research. The degree also serves as a foundation for specialized postgraduate training in clinical or organizational psychology. Psychology alumni work across numerous sectors including HR, elder care, law enforcement, military, marketing, social services, child and family support, corrections, and mental health. Potential roles include substance abuse counselor, corporate talent manager, school counselor, disability support specialist, parole officer, or child protection worker.
