This dual degree program is perfect for students looking to gain practical experience in creating dentures, crowns, and bridges while also learning to diagnose, design, and fit removable dentures for patients. For recent high school graduates, it offers specialized training and enhanced career prospects after completing the program. Graduates earn two qualifications, enabling them to work as both Dental Technologists/Technicians and Dental Prosthetists. Dental Technologists (commonly called Dental Technicians) are essential members of the dental care team, blending artistic and scientific expertise to craft custom dental appliances like dentures, crowns, bridges, and orthodontic devices. These professionals restore function and aesthetics while typically working in laboratories rather than directly with patients. Dental Prosthetists, on the other hand, operate independently in clinical environments, diagnosing and treating patients who need removable partial or complete dentures.
