This program offers comprehensive insights into policy, governance, and power dynamics across national and global contexts. You'll examine political systems, legislative processes, international diplomacy, and global affairs. The curriculum investigates democratic systems and their challenges, along with the tactics employed by authoritarian regimes to consolidate power, among other engaging subjects in Political Science and International Relations. During your second and third years, you'll specialize by choosing one or two focus areas from International Relations, Political Science and Public Policy, or Security, Conflict and Human Rights. The program incorporates career-focused training through employability courses and practical experiences like internships, field studies, or parliamentary placements. Alumni from Griffith's political science and international relations programs have launched diverse careers in international diplomacy, policy research, global commerce, government positions at various levels, and roles with NGOs and international institutions. Many Queensland and federal politicians, including cabinet members, began their political education at Griffith.
