For those aspiring to teach in primary schools, the Master of Teaching (Primary) program offers two options: a fast-track 1.5-year accelerated path or a standard 2-year version. Both pathways equip students with the qualifications needed for teacher registration, combining comprehensive educational theory with hands-on teaching experience. Graduates will develop multi-perspective understanding and gain the interpersonal skills, adaptability, and creativity to navigate today's rapidly evolving society. This degree ensures new teachers enter the workforce with both confidence and professional readiness. While most graduates pursue teaching careers in public or private schools, alternative career paths exist, such as positions in community education or educational engagement roles.
Applicants must hold an approved undergraduate bachelor degree or equivalent qualification. The Master of Teaching (Primary) is a pre-service teaching degree and admission normally will not be granted to applicants who already hold a teaching qualification in the same area. Please note that different teaching courses may have additional entry requirements.
