This program prepares students to become leaders in advancing electrical and electronic technologies. Professional engineers in this field design and create innovative devices, contributing significantly to smart infrastructure development for autonomous vehicles, aerospace, maritime applications, bioinstrumentation, intelligent robotics, environmental monitoring, smart cities, and sustainable energy solutions. Flinders emphasizes research-focused engineering education, providing opportunities for specialized projects in areas like intelligent control, autonomous systems, robotics, image processing, computer vision, renewable energy, and bioinstrumentation. Faculty members actively collaborate on industry initiatives involving underwater drones, video tracking systems, bioinstrumentation, and environmental sensing technologies.
Applicants must normally hold a Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Engineering Technology, Bachelor of Engineering Science or equivalent overseas qualification in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) or a closely related discipline. Alternatively, students can progress through Flinders University’s Graduate Diploma in Engineering Science (EEE major).
Students without such a qualification should apply for the Master of Engineering Science (Electrical and Electronic) or the Graduate Diploma in Engineering Science (EEE major) and can transfer into the Master of Engineering after completing one year of study.
Students who hold a Washington Accord accredited Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical and Electronic) (Honours) may receive up to one-year’s credit in the degree.
