This program equips students with scientific knowledge for addressing water management challenges. Our specialized postgraduate course in water resources management accommodates learners from diverse academic backgrounds, offering adaptable content and flexible delivery methods. Participants can pursue either an in-depth specialization or a comprehensive overview of various water management topics.
Learners can tailor their studies to develop expertise in areas ranging from integrated water systems, hydrological processes, water quality and public health, to leadership competencies for the water sector. We prepare you to apply management principles to address present challenges while proactively preventing future water resource issues. The curriculum emphasizes understanding the social, political, economic, and environmental factors affecting water management, along with developing strong written and verbal communication skills. Leveraging Flinders University's position as host to the National Centre for Groundwater Research and Training - the premier groundwater research and education institution in the southern hemisphere - our program benefits from world-class expertise. Our water resources research team ranks among the global elite, holding the 13th position in the prestigious Shanghai Ranking.
Applicants who do not hold the Graduate Certificate in Science (Water Resources Management) must normally hold an approved degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline of science and engineering, from an approved tertiary institution.
