The Graduate Certificate in Science (Aquaculture) can be completed in 6 months of full-time study (or equivalent part-time duration). This specialization is delivered through the College of Science and Engineering. The program aligns with the 36-unit Graduate Diploma and 72-unit Master's degree in Aquaculture, allowing seamless progression between these qualifications. Students gain comprehensive knowledge of worldwide aquaculture practices through both theoretical instruction and hands-on technical training, fostering independent analysis and problem-solving abilities in the field. The curriculum explores diverse subjects including aquaculture methodologies, technological applications, water management, product standards, botanical studies, algal biology, and business economics. The Master's program combines academic coursework with professional industry experience.
Applicants for the graduate certificate must normally hold a degree in any relevant discipline of science or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution. The Graduate Certificate in Science (Aquaculture) is not available to graduates of the Bachelor of Science (Aquaculture), Bachelor of Science (Aquaculture) (Honours), or equivalent.
