The PhD program aims to deliver top-tier research training while fostering or recognizing the development of meaningful original contributions that advance scholarly understanding. PhD graduates will possess advanced, specialized cognitive abilities, technical expertise, and research proficiency within their discipline, enabling them to autonomously conduct rigorous investigations. This includes demonstrating original inquiry or hypothesis testing, mastery of independent research methodologies, comprehensive application of field-specific techniques supported by literature review, critical analysis of sources and experimental data (where applicable), awareness of their specialization's broader academic context, ability to produce high-quality written work, intellectual independence, and a substantial novel addition to their field of study.
To be accepted for enrolment in a Doctor of Philosophy candidature, an applicant must:
