The Bachelor of Music program equips you with the technical, artistic, and analytical skills needed to pursue a career as a professional musician. Students receive personalized instruction for vocal and instrumental studies, along with abundant performance and studio opportunities.
This degree is designed around the concept that modern musicians often build diverse careers requiring adaptable abilities in performance, composition, arranging, production, direction, teaching, and research. With these competencies (and sometimes additional training), our alumni have obtained—and future students can anticipate—positions such as:
Performers (accompanists, ensemble players, band members, session artists)
Composers and arrangers
Conductors and music directors (in educational and religious environments)
Artist representatives and booking agents
Arts administrators, event coordinators, and development professionals
Sound engineers (for both studio and live productions)
Educators (in private, public, and alternative learning settings)
Music reviewers, writers, and media specialists
Educational Prerequisites
In addition to meeting the educational, artistic and academic prerequisites above, international applicants who have not completed an educational qualification in English have to provide proof of proficiency in English through internationally recognised tests such as IELTS or TOEFL, or through satisfactory completion of an approved course at one of the College’s partner language colleges.
Overseas students applying for admission to Excelsia College courses must have reached the age of 18 years by the commencement of their studies. Excelsia College will not admit overseas students who have not yet reached 18 years of age.
