ECU's Occupational Therapy research focuses on expanding knowledge about how occupation impacts health and well-being throughout life, while strengthening the evidence foundation for occupational therapy practices.
While specific postgraduate research topics are tailored in collaboration with advisors, we particularly welcome applicants interested in: Enhancing community participation for lifelong health and wellness Exploring client perspectives on occupational involvement and therapy services Fostering inclusive communities Cultivating and maintaining professional practice competence Current faculty research includes investigations into: Community transportation accessibility Balancing risk and autonomy in occupational activities Inclusive education strategies Therapeutic approaches for chronic pain, developmental coordination disorders, terminal illnesses, dementia, brain injuries, and persistent mental health conditions Utilizing simulation in education.
