The Doctor of Philosophy (Integrated) program begins with a structured foundation year focused on research preparation, followed by an independent research project under supervision. The initial year's curriculum combines general research training with specialized units to equip students with essential skills for successful research, including methodology, timely project completion, and effective academic communication. Students must maintain a 70% weighted average mark (WAM) during this preparatory phase to advance to the thesis component.
This PhD(I) program is available across various disciplines at ECU, contingent upon supervisor availability and necessary resources for the proposed research. The university actively promotes interdisciplinary studies that may bridge multiple research domains and academic units. Prospective students are advised to explore ECU's School websites to identify key research focus areas.
