A Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) allows you to deeply explore a subject you're enthusiastic about at the most advanced academic level. This program involves conducting independent research under supervision, evaluated through a thesis or creative work with accompanying analysis. You can pursue this degree in any ECU School where suitable supervisors and necessary resources exist for your chosen research topic. ECU actively supports interdisciplinary studies that bridge multiple fields. PhD candidates must design projects achievable within three years of full-time study, with submissions permitted after two years and a maximum duration of four years. Undertaking a PhD requires substantial dedication, with full-time students expected to devote a minimum of 35 hours weekly to their research.
